WPM ONCE AGAIN AMONG TOP FIVE WORKPLACES IN BALTIMORE AREA

For the second consecutive year, WPM Real Estate Management has been named one of the Top Five Workplaces in the Baltimore area.

One of the premier property management organizations serving the Mid-Atlantic, WPM employs 479 nearly 500 workers and manages more than 17,000 residential properties, while also working with commercial, retail, and industrial clients.

WPM’s newest management projects include: 101 Ellwood (recently converted Patterson Park High School turned 140 modern apartments); Paragon at Columbia Overlook (a planned 320-unit rental community located at the intersection of I-95 and Route 175 at the southwestern gateway to Columbia); and 520 Park (a $30 million redevelopment that is transforming the former Hoschild Kohn Department Store Warehouse into 171 modern apartments in the heart of Baltimore’s historic Mount Vernon neighborhood).

But while WPM oversees some of the region’s most high-profile properties – including Scarlett Place in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and the recently restored Park Plaza building in Mount Vernon – it was the company’s strong emphasis on charitable giving and volunteerism that placed it in the Top Five Workplaces for the second year in a row.

“They believe in a direct correlation between the health of their communities and the health of their business,” says Philadelphia-based WorkplaceDynamics, which conducted the annual survey in conjunction with The Baltimore Sun.

WPM Chairman Mark Caplan notes, “Our business is built on the core values of integrity, strength, energy, and excellence. We take pride in our work. We have passion for our profession. We believe success is the result of strong teamwork. And we earn the confidence and trust of our clients by exceeding their expectations.”

The sole requirement for companies participating in the Top Workplaces survey was that they employ at least 50 people in the Baltimore metro area. The organization could be public, private, nonprofit, or governmental, and could be nominated by anyone.

To pick the Top Workplaces, WorkplaceDynamics surveyed the employees of the nominated companies. The survey included 22 questions covering topics such as training, work/life balance, company values and leadership, employee appreciation, compensation, retention, and motivation.

After the surveys were completed, employers were categorized by size (50-149 employees, 150-399 employees, and above 400 employees) and ranked within each size category based solely on employee responses to the survey questions. The top employers in each size category were then selected as the Top Workplaces.

“We’re thrilled to once again be named among the top workplaces in the Baltimore area,” concludes Caplan. “Our selection speaks to the commitment of our well-established team of dedicated professionals and subcontractors in delivering unparalleled property management services that create a valuable experience for residents, commercial and retail tenants, investors, and homeowners.”
